Tuscany. Even the name sounds classy. Say it with me: Tuscany.
This dreamy Italian region is the perfect backdrop for a story, so let's get classy this weekend by reading any one of these four classy books set in beautiful, gorgeous ~Tuscany.~
1. Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes
Many have seen the movie starring Diane Lane, but have you read the memoir that inspired the film? Lush vineyards, fine cuisine, and the traditions of Tuscany all come alive in this beloved book first published in 1996.
2. A Room with a View by E.M. Forster
This classic novel from 1908 follows Lucy who, after visiting Florence, is then faced with a decision between a vibrant life in Italy or the dull life she left behind in England. I think we all know which one is the better pick.
3. The Tuscan Child by Rhys Bowen
This historical fiction novel from 2018 tells the tale of Joanna, who travels to Tuscany on a journey to understanding her father and the secrets he kept during World War Two. Color me intrigued.
4. A Thousand Days in Tuscany by Marlena de Blasi
This 2005 memoir tells the story of an American chef and a Venetian banker who leave their life in Venice behind to live in a stable in Tuscany. Oh, and this one includes recipes, too, so be prepared to cook after!
And get ready for another title to add to this list... my own novel will be released in the coming months (date TBA), and it takes place in Rome and Florence. Read more about it here.
